Current Families

Your child will derive the most benefit from their experience here at MSB if you make room for the principles and spirit of Montessori within your home. You can acquaint yourself by observing your child in the classroom, attending Parent Education events, reading materials from the Parent Library in the entryway, and attending parent-teacher conferences. Please also be sure to acquaint yourself with the Parent Handbook each year.

Communicating with MSB

The administrative staff at MSB is delighted to answer your calls on days that school is in session (generally, M – F; 7:30am–4:00pm). We also check email throughout the day; however, if you do not receive a response to your electronic inquiry as soon as is necessary, please call the school at (413) 637-3662 during the aforementioned school hours. It is always best to share important updates about your children via email or a handwritten note to the Front Desk, as verbal communication can be unreliable particularly during busy times of the day such as drop-off and pick-up.

Communication from MSB

Our weekly email bulletin Notes Home is an important resource for upcoming events and MSB community news. It is sent out on Friday. MSB sends many of its group emails via MailChimp, which might mean they get filtered out of your inbox since it is a third-party email provider. MSB Branded Apparel

We have partnered with Land's End's to bring a greater variety of MSB gear and spirit wear to our community. There are three logos to choose from - full color, white outline, and blue outline. and these logos can be applied to almost any item available through Land's End.

Orders from the Land's End school uniform catalogue can be made online . Regular catalogue orders can be made by calling 800-469-2222 . Be sure to ask to speak with a school support person and use our Preferred School Number: 900191958.

Transparent Classroom

The guides use Transparent Classroom to track students’ work and progress. Your login will allow you to access information about your child’s experiences at school. Transparent Classroom can also be set up to text or email you photos and updates about your child on a daily or weekly basis.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up

We encourage everyone to use the drop-off lane in front of the school; but you can also park your car and walk your child to the front door.

If you use the drop-off lane, a staff member will greet you and assist your child into school. There is no need to get out of the car, as staff can help, but you can assist your child(ren) out of the car if necessary. We do ask that you please say your goodbyes quickly so the drop-off line moves quickly for everyone. Curbside drop-off is from 8:00 am to 8:30 am, and curbside pick-up begins at 3:00 pm and ends at 3:30 pm for the regular school day; however, we ask that you give your child enough time to get to their cubby and be ready to start the day at 8:30, which usually takes about 10 min.

Should you choose to park and walk your child into school, we ask everyone to use the walk way to get to the front door and then say goodbyes quickly at the front door and/or carpeted entryway. The halls and cubby areas are considered extensions of the classrooms and for students only.

Dismissal Staff members will walk children out to the car line and secure each child in the car. The dismissal schedule is as follows: Toddler Half day pick up from 12:00 pm to 12:15 pm; full day pick up is from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Children’s House Half day pick up from 12:30 pm to 12:45 pm; full day pick up from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Elementary Regular pick up is from 3:15 pm to 3:30 pm. Adolescent Experience Pick up is at 3:30 pm. Please note that AE students are dismissed as a group at 3:30 pm; if you arrive early, please do not join the car line before 3:30 pm.
