Admissions Process

Are you interested in applying to our school? We look forward to meeting you and getting to know your child!  Kehr Davis, Director of Admissions, looks forward to talking with you and walking you through the process. Kehr can be reached via phone (413) 637-3662  or email. Your first conversation will be a chance to let us know how old your child is, what program you are interested in applying for, and what interests you about Montessori education.

  • Schedule a Tour and Classroom Observation

Come see the Montessori difference! During the application process we get to know you and your child well, to make sure we are the right fit for each other. Initial visits are scheduled for weekday mornings. This gives prospective families a chance to see the uninterrupted morning work cycle: a hallmark of Montessori education. Your visit will start with a tour of the school, followed by a chance to sit and observe a class at work. Before you leave, you will have an opportunity to meet with our administrative staff to ask any question you may have. Please note that these initial visits are for adults only.

  • Student Visit

After meeting with the Director of Admissions and submitting the initial application, we will arrange a visit for your child. This is an opportunity for your child to explore the classroom and connect with our guides, as well as a chance for us to work together to determine how/whether a transition into an MSB classroom is most appropriate for your family.

Toddler and Children's House are invited to meet with the Director of Education or guides in the classroom after the end of the regular school day, typically around 3:30 in the afternoon. This is a chance for your child to explore the environment and work with one of our classroom guides. A member of the admission team will also be available to answer additional questions you might have.

Elementary and Adolescent Program applicants spend a morning in the classroom. This will give your child the opportunity to work with other students and experience a typical day at MSB.

  • Complete the Application Process

An application will be considered complete after parents/guardians have observed the classroom, the student has visited, and we have received your application and fee. For children with prior school experience, we also require a teacher evaluation form and school records.

Families seeking financial assistance should submit their financial information at the same time they are working on their admission application to ensure timely decisions. For more information about tuition and financial aid, visit this page.

We follow the following timeline for admissions:

    • February 15: Priority application deadline for the upcoming school year
    • February 15-29: Regular admissions period for the upcoming school year
    • March 1 on: Rolling admissions until all spaces for the upcoming school year are filled.
  • Join our Community!

Once your application is complete, we will review it and inform you of an admission decision. If admitted, an enrollment contract will be sent at the same time. During this time families will also have a meeting with our Director of Education to learn more about the child's transition into the classroom.

In cases of high classroom enrollment, we will admit children to a waiting pool, and will notify families as soon as a space for your child becomes available.
