Extended Day

In the extended day program, experienced adults guide children in creative and playful endeavors. Students will enjoy a social and relaxing afternoon with free play as well as songs, stories, time outdoors, and special activities. It is open to children in all programs – toddler through adolescent. The extended day program at MSB meets the differing needs of families for after school care, and provides a consistent, supervised, enriched environment where children can feel comfortable, safe, and nurtured. We provide an extended day option until 4:30 pm. Students depart when their authorized adult arrives and signs them out.

An Emphasis on the Outdoors

Children spend a significant amount of Extended Day enjoying nature and a variety of outdoor activities. Children will explore, play, and learn while enjoying the various spaces available on our campus. Outdoor activities include small hikes, gardening, and observation of wildlife. Your growing child will have many opportunities to run, jump, swing, and spin through organized games and independent play time.

Enrichment Activities

In addition to our general Extended Day, several times a year we offer enrichment activities which are often sponsored by our parent community. Sessions usually meet once a week for six or eight weeks, and are typically open to those students who are Children's House age and up. Recent sessions have included:

  • Flying Deer Nature Center @ MSB
  • Lego Robotics
  • Drama
